Youth Policy
The Zhanaozen Oil Refinery’s youth policy aims to develop the professional and intellectual potential of young professionals and to provide them with high-quality and efficient opportunities for the growth of their creative endeavors. The Company employed about 33 young professionals under the age of 750 as of July 2019. The Work of the Council of Young Professionals (hereinafter referred to as the SMEs) was established in order to prepare young professionals for the workforce and to instill a sense of the group’s culture and values. The Company has been successfully implementing the SMEs since 2013.
Young professionals can participate in a variety of activities to enhance their professional development and personal growth, including forums, patriotic events, sports competitions, Young Professionals Day, trainings for the development of leadership and business skills, internships at other oil and gas production companies, conferences, and forums.
Young professionals actively participate in the Company’s production and community projects each year. The company’s staff, including young employees, organized a charity in 2015–2016 to help the residents of Atyrau affected by the tortoise–tortoise–tortoise at the expense of one day’s pay. In Atyrau, renovations were made to four families with disabled children in 2015, a new apartment was constructed for an elderly person in 2016, and a large family with a serious illness escrow was constructed in 2017.
They also bring kids for special care. Every year, charity fairs are held, and it is from these fairs that gifts are given to kids from low-income families. In 2018, 50 children who were studying at home due to illness received gifts for the new year from young specialists. The company’s staff helped 10 low-income Atyrau region families on the day of the Great Victory thanks to the initiative of chairman of the board A.Y. Dzhaksybekov. To foster a sense of patriotism, the company’s head office organized a meeting with internationalists in February of this year to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.
